Mobile Snatched, Beaten for UPI; Delhi Loot Mystery: Four Arrested

Four individuals nabbed in Delhi for forcing a man to disclose his UPI PIN to purchase alcohol and food after stealing his mobile phone.

In a fascinating yet unfortunate incident in Delhi, four individuals have been apprehended for robbing a man's mobile phone and coercing him into revealing his UPI PIN to buy alcohol and food. The perpetrators also assaulted the victim. The police identified the accused as Ashu Tiwari (19), Karan (19), Prem (30), and another Karan (20), all residents of Baljeet Nagar, Delhi. This peculiar event transpired on December 4 in the Punjabi Bagh area. A special investigation team examined CCTV footage to trace the culprits.

Police Identify Accused via Two Scooters

A senior police officer reported, 'On December 17, two scooters used in the crime were identified, leading us to Tiwari and Karan. Upon capture and interrogation, they revealed their association with two other people, who were subsequently arrested.'

Alcohol Fueled Robbery as Money Ran Out

During the interrogation, the accused confessed that they had consumed alcohol before the incident and ran out of money, prompting them to rob the complainant. The official stated that when they couldn't find any cash, they stole the victim’s mobile phone and forced him to disclose his UPI password. Subsequently, the criminals used the stolen phone to make online payments for food and alcohol.
