The Aam Aadmi Party may have lost power in Delhi, but they remain influential in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Following their Assembly election defeat, the party has become more proactive within the MCD, making significant announcements regarding house tax on Monday. The party declared that previous house tax dues will be forgiven for those who pay their taxes for the fiscal year 2024-25 on time.

Significant Announcement on House Tax

Addressing a press conference, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, 'Delhi residents who make timely payments of their house tax for the fiscal year 2024-25 will have all previous dues waived. Moreover, house tax for properties ranging from 100 to 500 square yards will be halved for the fiscal year 2025-26.'

He further mentioned, 'House tax for homes smaller than 100 square yards will be completely waived. Shops operating within residential premises will also see their taxes waived. Additionally, house tax for 1,300 housing apartments across Delhi will be reduced by up to 25%.'

Permanent Employment for 12,000 Temporary MCD Workers

Just a day earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party had passed a proposal in an MCD assembly meeting to grant permanent employment to 12,000 temporary municipal workers. AAP legislator Atishi provided details in a press conference.

Sharing this information on 'X' (formerly Twitter), the party announced, 'The Aam Aadmi Party government is set to regularize 12,000 temporary workers in the MCD. Previously, the AAP government had already made 4,500 temporary sanitation workers permanent.'
