With rising petrol and diesel prices in the Indian market, automobile manufacturers are exploring alternative fuel options. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is emerging as a promising choice. Until now, brands like Maruti, Tata, and Hyundai dominated the CNG segment. But now, the French carmaker Renault has entered the fray by introducing CNG kits.
Renault has announced today the launch of official CNG kits for its entire vehicle lineup. The company claims these CNG kits are government-approved. They will be available for all Renault cars, including Kwid, Triber, and Kiger. The kits are priced at 79,500 INR for Triber and Kiger, and 75,000 INR for Kwid.

How the CNG Kit Works:
The company announced that initially, CNG kits will be available in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, covering 65% of the market, with plans to expand nationwide in the coming months. These kits will be installed via authorized dealers, utilizing state-of-the-art devices that meet safety and performance standards.
Warranty Assured by the Company:
Safety concerns over third-party CNG installations are common, but Renault offers a three-year official warranty on all retrofitted CNG vehicles. However, the kits will not be available for automatic or turbo variants.
Renault India's Managing Director and Country CEO, Venkataram M., highlighted that this initiative echoes the company’s commitment to environmentally friendly mobility solutions. Dealers have been instructed to adhere to a consistent quality retrofitting process to ensure uniformity.
