In the bustling capital city of Delhi, a 25-year-old man has been arrested on accusations of rape and blackmailing a young woman. Police confirmed the arrest on Thursday, identifying the accused as Kuldeep, who worked as a welder in Bawana.
According to a news agency report, on September 21, Kuldeep befriended the victim and gained her trust. Utilizing that trust nefariously, he administered a sedative to the woman and committed the crime.
Blackmail Through Recorded Video
Post-assault, Kuldeep took objectionable photos and videos of the victim. Using these materials, he began threatening and blackmailing her. Under duress of the images and videos being made public, he coerced the victim into further physical encounters.
When the victim repeatedly refused, Kuldeep intensified his threats, leading her to bravely report the incident to the police. Considering the gravity of the situation, a special team was formed to investigate.
Accused Apprehended from Gujarat
On December 16, the police tracked Kuldeep down to Surat, Gujarat. In a swift operation, they apprehended him. During the arrest, a mobile phone was seized, containing the incriminating pictures and videos. Police have registered a case against Kuldeep under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act.
