The 78th Independence Day celebration will be held at Delhi's Red Fort on August 15. Security has been tightened across all areas of Delhi ahead of the event. The Delhi Police are keeping watch everywhere, whether it's deploying personnel at various security points, checking vehicles, or monitoring via drones. The police are paying special attention to security in every corner.
In light of security concerns on Independence Day, the Delhi Police have developed an app called e-Parikshan, which is highly significant for safety. This app is exclusively for police use and not available to the public. Through this app, the Delhi Police can verify the details of people living around the Red Fort.
North DCP Manoj Meena informed that this app was launched this year and would be extremely useful during events like August 15 and January 26. Until now, police officers had to verify citizens individually, but now their data will be stored in the app. This will allow the Delhi Police to have information about all the people connected to the Red Fort, including their criminal background and their home states.
The Delhi Police have already made all security arrangements before August 15 and have also advised local residents not to fly drones, as it is currently prohibited around the Red Fort. Legal action will be taken for any violations.
You might wonder how this Delhi Police app functions. Sub-Inspector Vinod Walia, working in the Delhi Police, explained that e-Parikshan is entirely digital. Only officers working in security and surveillance operations can use it, given its importance for safety. Therefore, the Delhi Police are not sharing this information on public or social media platforms.
The Delhi Police technical team monitors this app. It can identify how many people still need verification. It requires a user login to operate, and upon logging in, you get complete data on the nearby residents, verified only after confirmation from their respective local police authorities.
