Residents of Northwestern India begin to find solace from the oppressive heat. However, this relief is only temporary. Showers last night in Delhi and its adjacent districts brought a slight dip in temperatures, ushering in a milder atmosphere.

The mercury levels in other North Indian states have also dropped. Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest at 46.2°C recently, a significant fall from earlier peaks of 52°C. This 5 degree drop is welcomed, but weather authorities have issued a heatwave alert in several states for today as well.

The IMD forecasts a persistent heatwave in areas of Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. In contrast, Delhi, including the North-Western Indian region, is expected to continue experiencing relief.
