A pivotal meeting of Congress's Central Election Committee (CEC) was held in the capital regarding the Delhi elections. Discussions revolved around candidates for 35 seats, and reports suggest that 28 names have been finalized. However, 7 seats remain undecided. Insider sources reveal that Alka Lamba is likely to be pitched against Chief Minister Atishi from the Kalkaji seat. Notably, this was the second meeting of Congress's CEC.

According to sources, deliberations also included seats like Seemapuri, Jangpura, Matia Mahal, and Bijwasan. Names like Rajesh Lilothia for Seemapuri, Farhad Suri for Jangpura, Asim Ahmed for Matia Mahal, and Devender Sehrawat for Bijwasan were discussed. Congress might field these candidates in the mentioned constituencies.

Congress has started gearing up for the Delhi Assembly elections and is preparing its election manifesto. In meetings with Delhi Congress leaders, there are hints that the party might promise Rs 3,000 monthly to women and 400 units of free electricity.

As the Delhi elections draw near, a shift of leaders between parties is underway. Recently, two former Aam Aadmi Party leaders joined Congress as the February elections approach. Former AAP legislator Asim Ahmed Khan and Colonel Devender Sehrawat have departed from Kejriwal's party to join Congress.

Previously, incumbents like Rajendra Pal Gautam from Seemapuri and Abdul Rehman from Seelampur switched from AAP to Congress. Abdul Rehman, who left AAP, is now a part of the Congress camp.
