Arvind Kejriwal's Day of Reckoning:
Today is a decisive day for Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, as his interim bail hearing is imminent. Amidst campaigning controversies, Kejriwal might walk free from jail. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) not only contests the interim bail but also is set to further ensnare Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with a supplementary chargesheet, portraying Kejriwal as the main character in the liquor scam saga. Furthermore, ED could file additional charges today implicating AAP as well, a historic first for a political party to be formally accused in such a case.
In relation to the controversial Delhi liquor policy, a pivotal hearing has taken place today. The high court issued a notice to the ED, demanding a response within two weeks on bail plea by K. Kavita. Kejriwal's bail request has already been dismissed by the lower special court, and Kavita is now expected to challenge the high court's decision to deny her bail at the Supreme Court.
