The Congress has announced its candidates for all three parliamentary seats held in Delhi. The party has nominated Kanhaiya Kumar to contest from North-East Delhi against BJP’s Manoj Tiwari. Party leader Rahul Gandhi advocated strongly for Kanhaiya's candidacy. Initially, Delhi's state president Arvinder Singh Lovely expressed his desire to run, but Gandhi's intervention has paved the way for Kumar.

Congress has granted the Chandni Chowk ticket to JP Agarwal. Despite both Alka Lamba's and Sandeep Dikshit’s interest in this constituency, they were ultimately not chosen. Meanwhile, Udit Raj will compete in the North-West Delhi seat. The party's fresh list includes ten candidates, with three from Delhi, six for Punjab, and one for Uttar Pradesh.

Endorsement from Rahul Gandhi for Kanhaiya

Leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his preference for Kanhaiya Kumar to stand against Manoj Tiwari from North-East Delhi. Although the screening committee had proposed Arvinder Singh Lovely for candidacy, the discourse took a turn. Kumar, originally from Begusarai, was willing to run for the Lok Sabha from there, but Congress could not negotiate this seat with the RJD.

Likely candidates against Manoj Tiwari were speculated, and now the top Congress leaders have sealed the decision. Gandhi has put his full support behind Kumar, with the belief by many that Kumar will assert tremendous pressure on the current BJP MP, Manoj Tiwari.
