Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Assam, faced sharp criticism from Congress. Congress leader Pawan Khera took to the social media platform 'X', sharing a highly sarcastic post, appealing for the Prime Minister to visit violence-stricken Manipur.
On X, Khera quipped, "States with elections always hold your utmost attention, but Manipur must not be abandoned. Since 2023, the state has been inflamed, and it is happening yet again."
Pointing out the short distance between the two states, Khera wrote, “You are in Assam today. Manipur is only an hour away from here by flight. Please visit there too. The presence of the Prime Minister can greatly reassure the people of Manipur.”

'I didn’t have your number…':
Khera shared an image of the flight ticket, stating, "For your convenience, we have booked a ticket from Guwahati to Imphal, you just need to board the plane. Since I didn't have your number, I am sharing the ticket here." He subtly mocked the central 'PM CARES' fund, urging the Prime Minister to show genuine concern for Manipur by visiting.
Amid the ongoing violence in Manipur since 2023, with sporadic flare-ups, the opposition continues to question the central government. Conversely, the government maintains that efforts to restore peace are ongoing.
