Chhattisgarh: Heartbroken Student Takes Drastic Step During Live Video Call

A 17-year-old student from Durg district took his life while on a video call with his girlfriend, believed to be due to stress in the relationship. The police have begun an investigation following the family's complaint.

In the Bhilai region of Durg district, Chhattisgarh, a 17-year-old student tragically ended his life. Identified as Gopal Sahu, he was a student in the 11th grade. Reports indicate that Gopal used a video call with his girlfriend to communicate this devastating act. Once the police were informed, they arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it for postmortem while commencing an investigation.

During their investigation, police discovered that a few days earlier, Gopal mentioned his classmate to his girlfriend, which led to an argument. His girlfriend blocked him on social media, causing Gopal to spiral into depression.

Suicide During a Video Call

The deceased's brother, Lokesh Sahu, recounted that Gopal had a friendship with a girl from Bihar, with whom he frequently interacted on social media. When he shared news about his school friend with his girlfriend, she became upset, leading to this tragic outcome. Gopal's family and friends are in shock over this incident. The Supela Police have registered an accidental death case and are thoroughly investigating the event.

Police Register Case and Initiate Probe

AAC Sukhnandan Rathore stated that a minor boy has committed suicide. An accidental death case has been registered, and facts revealed during the investigation will guide subsequent actions.
