Rifle Used in Killing of Trump's Ally Charlie Kirk Recovered, FBI in Pursuit of Attacker

In a shocking incident during an event at Utah College, Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and close associate of President Donald Trump, was fatally shot by an attacker. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), leading the probe into Kirk’s murder, has successfully retrieved the bolt-action rifle used in the attack.

The FBI described the suspect as resembling a college attendee. The hunt for the attacker is ongoing. On that tragic Wednesday, 31-year-old radio commentator and podcaster Charlie Kirk was shot while he was speaking at Utah Valley University’s 'Prove Me Wrong' event.

The gathering where Charlie Kirk was shot witnessed a participation of nearly 3,000 individuals. Acknowledged for his efforts in rallying Republican support amongst young voters, Charlie Kirk was also known for his pro-Israel stance. Utah Governor Spencer Cox had termed Kirk’s murder as politically motivated.

The incident was caught on camera, and the footage was swiftly circulated on social media. According to Utah officials, the shooter accessed the area after traversing a rooftop and opened fire on Kirk. Officials shared video footage of a suspect resembling a typical college-age individual, who easily blended into the campus environment.

Utah’s Department of Public Safety officials assert that the perpetrator will soon be apprehended. The FBI has validated that a high-powered rifle was employed in the attack, which they have recovered. Forensic analysis of fingerprints on the rifle and footprints from the scene is underway.

Investigators also solicit the public's assistance in tracking down the suspect. The FBI has announced a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the assailant. Charlie Kirk founded the conservative student organization and was gravely injured in the shooting, succumbing to his wounds hours later in the hospital. President Trump has condemned Kirk's assassination.

President Trump took to Truth Social to honor Charlie Kirk, describing him as a great individual who profoundly connected with America’s youth. An informed source revealed that Vice President JD Vance canceled his New York visit arranged for September 11 and intends to meet Kirk’s family in Utah. Notably, since his youth, Charlie Kirk was deeply entrenched in conservative politics, forging connections, some of which extend to top governmental roles.
