Explosion Heard Before Crisis: Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Locomotive Pilot's Shocking Claim

Dibrugarh Train Accident:

A major update has emerged in the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh train mishap in UP's Gonda. The locomotive pilot claimed to have heard a blast before the accident. According to railway sources, the driver's name is Tribhuvan, who has asserted this claim. Following this revelation, an investigation from a conspiracy angle has also commenced.

Meanwhile, a passenger aboard the Dibrugarh-Chandigarh Express reported to the news agency ANI, "I was traveling to Hajipur. Before the incident, there was a minor explosion followed by a massive jolt that derailed our coach. We were coming from Chandigarh."

On Thursday afternoon, the 15904 Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express traveling from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh derailed between the Motiganj and Jhilahi stations on the Gonda-Mankapur rail route around 2:37 PM. The incident led to the AC coaches overturning, resulting in the tragic death of 2 passengers and injuries to 31 others.

Post-accident, swift relief and rescue operations have been initiated. Additionally, the route for certain trains passing through this corridor has been diverted to accommodate emergency measures. Helpline numbers have been disclosed at various stations for the convenience of passengers.

Ministry of Railways Announces Compensation

The Ministry of Railways has declared financial compensation for the families of the deceased and injured. It has been announced that the next of kin of the deceased will receive 10 lakh rupees, those seriously injured will receive 2.5 lakh rupees, and minimally injured persons will get 50,000 rupees. Besides a CRS investigation, high-level probe orders have been issued.

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has taken cognizance of the rail mishap and instructed officials to accelerate relief efforts immediately. He has also issued directions for the adequate treatment of the injured. Furthermore, hospitals, CHCs, PHCs in nearby districts have been placed on alert, and the SDRF team has reached the site and is engaged in rescue operations. The UP government and the Assam government are in contact regarding the incident.
