UP News:
Bulandshahr police have finally apprehended the elusive warrant Pappu, alias Manoj Tyagi, who had been absconding for 41 years. The police report that a raid was conducted on August 6 at a house in Sector-50 of Gautam Buddha Nagar, where Manoj was apprehended. Following the arrest, he was presented in court and sent to judicial custody.
Indeed, the case dates back to 1981. In Sunhera village, within the Kotwali Dehat region of Bulandshahr, a conflict during the student union elections escalated, resulting in the murder of a young man named Ganesh Dutt. In this case, Pappu Tyagi was charged and presented in court. The 1984 Bulandshahr session court found Pappu Tyagi guilty of Ganesh’s murder.
After the verdict, the accused appealed to the high court and was released on bail but subsequently ceased pursuing the case and stopped appearing in court. Consequently, the court declared him absconding and issued a warrant for his arrest. The police continued to search for him, but he kept relocating with his family to different districts.
Investigations revealed that the accused hails from the village of Chandsara in the Meerut district. His father was a district officiant in the Bulandshahr canal department at the time the incident occurred in 1981. Recently, based on a new tip-off, the Dehat police raided Noida and arrested Pappu Tyagi, who had been on the run for 41 years.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Shankar Prasad, stated that Pappu, alias Manoj Tyagi, is originally from the village of Chandsara in the Meerut district but was residing in Sector 50 of Gautam Buddha Nagar. After presenting him in court, he has been sent to judicial custody, having evaded capture for 41 years.
