The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is set to introduce its candidates in the political arenas of Amethi and Rae Bareli. BSP's state president Vishwanath Pal, in an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, revealed that the party has historically positioned candidates in these constituencies and is preparing to challenge the Congress stronghold once again. Much speculation surrounds the possible nomination of Sachidanand Pandey in Ayodhya following the guidance of BSP leadership.
It's noteworthy that Sachidanand Pandey recently severed his ties with the BJP on March 13, sparking speculations about his forthcoming electoral battle from Ayodhya on a BSP ticket. Addressing queries about fielding a Brahmin candidate, Vishwanath Pal stated that BSP champions participation across all communities, suggesting that Pandey's candidacy would not be unusual nor a significant departure, as the party does not engage in fracturing rival parties. Rather, he emphasized, it is BJP that often adopts such strategies for electoral gains.
Vishwanath Pal also commented on the socioeconomic fabric of the nation, advising that religion should be kept out of politics. Instead, the focus should be on development, societal harmony, employment, and enhancing farmers' incomes – factors that he believes should influence voter decisions. Dismissing coalition discussions as baseless, he asserted BSP's intent to contest elections independently and robustly, emphasizing that societal alliances surpass all others. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fielding candidates in Amethi and Rae Bareli as well.
