BJP's Latest Election List Unveils Competitors for Critical Battlegrounds

The Bharatiya Janata Party has released yet another slate of candidates in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, featuring nine fresh names. This list highlights crucial seats from Uttar Pradesh and includes the much-discussed constituencies of Asansol in West Bengal and Chandigarh. In a surprising move, the party has decided to cut the ticket of current Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher, selecting Sanjay Tandon, the city's former state president and current co-charge of Himachal Pradesh, as their new candidate.

In addition to this, SS Ahluwalia has been pitched against Shatrughan Sinha in Asansol. The party has also handed a ticket to former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar's son, Neeraj Shekhar, contesting from the Ballia seat in Uttar Pradesh.

In Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur, the BJP has positioned Paras Nath Rai to compete against Mukhtar Ansari's brother and Samajwadi Party candidate, Afzal Ansari. Meanwhile, the party has replaced current MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi with Neeraj Tripathi for the Allahabad seat. Praveen Patel has been given the mandate for the Phulpur seat.

For the Machhlishahr constituency, BP Saroj has been chosen. Vinod Sonkar will contest from Kaushambi. Making a notable mention, the BJP has put up cabinet minister in the UP government, Jayveer Thakur, against Samajwadi Party's Dimple Yadav for the Mainpuri seat.
