The BJP leveled allegations on Sunday that former Congress President Sonia Gandhi is associated with an organization funded by the American business magnate George Soros Foundation, which has endorsed the idea of detaching Kashmir from India. The ruling party further alleged on social media platform X that this link signifies foreign influence in India's internal affairs.
U.S. Government Dismisses Allegations
Meanwhile, the U.S. has dismissed allegations from the BJP that it is backing efforts to destabilize India. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey plans to pose ten questions to opposition leader Rahul Gandhi on this issue in the Lok Sabha. The BJP MP stated that the media portal Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and Soros have conspired with the opposition to undermine India’s economy and tarnish the Modi government.
The BJP claimed that Sonia Gandhi, who serves as co-chair of the Democratic Leaders in Asia-Pacific Foundation (FDL-AP), is linked to an organization financed by the George Soros Foundation.

The BJP stated that the FDL-AP Foundation has backed the separation of Kashmir. The party also alleged that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, chaired by Sonia Gandhi, fostered partnerships with the George Soros Foundation, demonstrating the influence of foreign capital on Indian organizations.
The BJP remarked that during Rahul Gandhi's press conference regarding Adani, the Soros-funded OCCRP live telecasted the event, highlighting their robust and hazardous affiliations, and their efforts to derail the Indian economy.
The BJP noted that Congress MP Shashi Tharoor publicly referred to George Soros as an 'old friend.' On December 5th, the BJP claimed that the American 'Deep State' conspired with OCCRP and Rahul Gandhi to tarnish India's image.
It's noteworthy that Congress has accused the Modi government of shielding Adani and demanded the formation of a joint parliamentary committee for a thorough investigation into the matter.
