An astonishing incident has emerged from Bijnor, UP. A pair of pythons, each 15 feet long and weighing approximately 150 kilograms, was rescued from tunnels in a field.

The event took place in Nawada village, where a python had taken residence in a farmer's field for several days. Upon seeing the python, the farmer promptly notified the forest department.

On Thursday, a team from the forest department arrived at the village to conduct the rescue operation. The pythons were residing in a one-foot-wide tunnel and would come out to bask in the afternoon sun. Both the field owner and the village head had reported the situation to the forest department.

After considerable effort, the forest department team excavated a pit using a JCB and, after about two hours, safely extracted the male and female python pair. The captured pythons are around 15 feet long and weigh over 150 kilograms. The team plans to release both pythons into the wild.

Regional forest officer Mahesh Gautam said that the village head of Nawada had informed them about the pythons making a home in the field tunnels. On Thursday, after significant effort, the forest department team successfully carried out the rescue.

The officer explained they are rock pythons, in their winter abode. Pulling them out was challenging, hence the rescue involved creating a pit. Both pythons have been released into the reserved forest area of Rampur Thakra.
