An alarming incident has emerged from Bihar's Rohtas district, where villagers launched an assault on a police team sent to arrest a warrant and an accused under the POCSO Act. Among the injured are a female constable and three other police personnel. This troubling event took place in Muradabad village, under the jurisdiction of the Muffasil police station.
According to reports, the Muffasil police team arrived in Muradabad village to apprehend Shahid Qureshi (a warrant) and Khaleel Qureshi (accused under the POCSO Act). As the officers began to escort the suspects, family members and some villagers unexpectedly attacked the police.
The confrontation involved stone-pelting, physical assault, and pushing, creating chaos. During this commotion, the attackers managed to free both suspects from police custody. Consequently, Havildar Rajendra Singh was injured, along with Inspector Shatrughna Sinha, Constable Sunil Kumar, and Constable Sunita Kumari. All were promptly admitted to Sadar Hospital in Sasaram for treatment.

There have been numerous recent attacks on police officers in Bihar, with stone pelting incidents reported in Araria, Munger, and now Bhagalpur.
SP Roshan Kumar of Rohtas stated that all officers were equipped with helmets and body protectors during the operation, which prevented severe injuries. He confirmed that a case has been filed against 20 named and several unidentified individuals related to this attack. The police continue to conduct raids, and they are confident the suspects will be captured soon.
Injured Havildar Rajendra Singh recounted that the attack was sudden while they attempted to arrest a warrant and a POCSO Act accused. Four officers suffered injuries, and stones were hurled at them.
