Bangladesh is currently experiencing political instability. The political scenario in Bangladesh has rapidly changed following the resignation threats from interim government leader Mohammad Yunus. Amidst this volatility, the Chinese embassy in Bangladesh has issued an advisory for its citizens.
Chinese nationals are urged by the embassy to strictly adhere to the relevant laws when marrying a foreign person. They have been cautioned to stay vigilant against illegal matchmaking agents for marrying Bangladeshi men or women and not to be misguided by cross-border dating content on video platforms.
The embassy strongly advises Chinese nationals to refrain from 'purchasing' foreign wives and to think twice before marrying in Bangladesh.

Currently, tensions are brewing between the Mohammad Yunus-led government and the military. The confrontation stems from plans concerning a humanitarian corridor along the Myanmar border, a secret deal initiated by Yunus's government with the US, leading to outrage from Bangladesh’s army chief.
Meanwhile, continuous protests are erupting across Bangladesh. Mohammad Yunus is besieged by demands from student organizations to opposition parties. The key opposition party is advocating for elections by the year's end. Protests have begun as opposition leaders like Mahfuz Asif and Khalilur Rahman demand their removal from the government.
In the power shift of August 5 last year, Sheikh Hasina, the then-Prime Minister, was overthrown and fled to India. By August 8, Mohammad Yunus was instated as the head of Bangladesh's interim government.
