Bengaluru Café Blast Mastermind Arrested in West Bengal

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), in a decisive action, has apprehended the prime suspect and a conspirator linked to the Rameshwaram Café blast in Bengaluru. Both the accused, identified as Abdul Matheen Taha and Musavir Shajeeb Hussain, were arrested in West Bengal.

The agency had earlier pinpointed Musavir Shajeeb Hussain, who had executed the explosion. Another conspirator, Abdul Matheen Taha, also wanted for other cases, was identified and captured.

Prior to these arrests, NIA teams conducted searches at 18 locations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, leading to the detention of co-conspirator Mujammil Sharif. The NIA had taken over the case on March 3rd, and in a recent press release, provided details on who orchestrated the blast.

Rameshwaram Café Reopens for Navratri Festivities

It is to be noted that a blast occurred at the Rameshwaram Café in Bengaluru on March 1st, injuring nine individuals. Police sources stated that an IED bomb was detonated using a timer. The café reopened with much fanfare during the Mahashivratri celebrations following the explosion.

According to the administration, metal detectors have been installed at the entrance of the café for customer inspections. Staff will conduct scans using handheld detectors before granting entry, while maintaining vigilant surveillance over customers for any suspicious activity.
