The BCCI stated in a release, 'A penalty has been imposed on Gujarat Titans' captain Shubman Gill for maintaining a slow over-rate during the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.'
The release further mentioned, 'It was their team's first offense related to slow over-rate under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct this season, resulting in a fine of 1.2 million INR on Shubman Gill.'
Reflecting on his match-winning innings, Jos Buttler remarked, 'Absolutely delighted to earn two points. The pitch was excellent for batting, and our plan was to take the game deep and select the right moments to play attacking shots. We built good partnerships along the way. Staying fit is key, especially to perform in pressure situations and adverse weather conditions.'
