Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2024: On Tuesday, September 3rd, Bangladesh etched its name in history. The Bangladeshi team defeated Pakistan on their home ground, winning the second Test match by 6 wickets. This marks the first time Bangladesh has ever won a Test series against Pakistan. Bangladesh was set a target of 185 runs.
On the fifth day of the match, Mushfiqur Rahim (22*) and Shakib Al Hasan (21*) remained unbeaten, leading their team to victory. Zakir Hasan scored the highest for Bangladesh in the second innings with 40 runs.
For the first time, Pakistan was whitewashed by Bangladesh in a Test series. Bangladesh defeated Pakistan on the final and fifth day of the match, clinching the series 2-0.
This Test match in Rawalpindi was interrupted by rain. In the first innings, Pakistan scored 274 runs. Pakistani vice-captain Saif Ayub scored 58 runs. From Bangladesh’s side, Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 5 wickets, conceding 61 runs.
Thanks to Liton Das's outstanding 138 runs, Bangladesh scored 262 runs in their first innings. During this time, Khurram Shehzad claimed 6 wickets for 90 runs. The Pakistani team was bowled out for just 172 runs in the second innings. Hasan Mahmood took 5 wickets, while Nahid Rana claimed 4 wickets.
Bangladesh Won the First Test by 10 Wickets
The first match of the two-Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh was played in Rawalpindi. Bangladesh delivered a crushing defeat to the home team by 10 wickets. In this match, Pakistan declared their first innings at 448/6. In response, Bangladesh amassed 565 runs in their first innings. The Pakistani team was then bowled out for 146 runs in the second innings, leading Bangladesh to a 10-wicket victory with 30 runs.
