A distressing incident has surfaced from Banda, Uttar Pradesh, where two friends ended their lives at different times. One hanged herself over unfulfilled demands for clothes, and the other, unable to endure the shock of her friend’s death, took the same step. The police, upon receiving information, arrived at the scene and sent both bodies for post-mortem. The police revealed that both girls were not only friends but shared a deep bond.

The incident took place in the Dehat Kotwali region. Here, Gayatri, the 19-year-old daughter of Devraj from a local village, fashioned a noose from a rope on a ceiling hook and hanged herself. When no sound was heard for a while, her younger sister found her hanging, causing a shock. The police were alerted, and although she was taken down from the noose, Gayatri had already passed away.

The Tragic End of Life Bound by Friendship

As the police questioned the family and prepared to send the body for post-mortem, Gayatri’s 18-year-old friend Pushpa, who lived nearby, couldn't bear the shock and also hanged herself. At the time of this incident, Pushpa's family was at Gayatri's house. The police took control of both bodies and sent them for autopsy.

Demand for Clothes Took a Life

Family members revealed that Gayatri wanted clothes. They assured her to fulfill her wish in a few days, but she was insistent on getting them immediately. It was this insistence that led to her suicide. Meanwhile, Pushpa couldn’t handle the shock of her dear friend's death and chose the same path. Their friendship was so profound that they had tattooed each other’s names on their hands. They were inseparable, spending their days together. The aftermath of the incident has left families devastated.

DCP Explains the Situation

DSP City Rajeev Pratap Singh reported that on December 20th, the Dehat Kotwali police station received information about a suicide in the village. The police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. Soon after, another notification came from the same village that another girl had committed suicide by hanging right behind Gayatri's house. Police sent both bodies for autopsy and are investigating the matter for necessary action.
