Five individuals from Rasra town in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, embarked on a religious journey to Iran but are now stranded. Their families have made a plea to the central government for assistance in securing their safe return.

Indians Trapped in a Hotel

According to their families, Syed Asad Ali Bakar, Syed Mohammad Murtaza Hussain, Syed Mohammad, Shama Jahan, and Syed Najmuskib traveled via Iraq to reach Iran on May 25. Currently, they are safely residing in a hotel in Tehran. However, the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel has made their return challenging.

Aatif, a resident of Rasra, shared that his family first traveled to Iraq before reaching Iran. Another traveler with them, Masirur Rahman, returned to India from Iraq on June 7, but the remaining five are still stuck in Tehran.

MP Writes Letter

Due to the suspension of air services, there appears to be little hope for their immediate return, according to the families. Meanwhile, Ballia MP Sanatan Pandey has written to the Ministry of External Affairs, urging essential actions to ensure the safe return of these individuals.

Additionally, residents of New Basti Gheri village in the Deva police area of Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh, are worried about their loved ones working in Israel, who are sheltering in bunkers amid the conflict.

Bablu, who has been working in Israel for 14 months, stated that as soon as the siren sounds, everyone moves to the bunker, where basic provisions are available.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav also appealed to the central government to dispatch special flights to bring back Indian citizens stranded abroad.
