The escalating conflict between Israel and Iran has drawn the United States into the fray. Last night, U.S. B-2 bombers conducted significant airstrikes on three key Iranian nuclear sites. In response, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezheshkian. PM Modi shared this update via X, stating, 'I spoke with Iranian President Pezheshkian about the ongoing situation. We discussed it in detail. I expressed my deep concern about the military conflict and reiterated the call for dialogue and diplomacy to reduce tensions promptly. I emphasized the need for the swift restoration of regional peace, security, and stability.'
Iranian Foreign Minister Saeed Abbas Araghchi condemned the U.S. airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, calling them a grave violation of international law, the UN Charter, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Araghchi posted a strong-worded statement on X, accusing the U.S., a permanent member of the UN Security Council, of 'criminal behavior' by targeting peaceful nuclear facilities. He stated, 'This morning's events are provocative and will have long-term consequences.'

Araghchi urged all UN members to be concerned about this perilous, chaotic, and criminal behavior. Referring to provisions of the UN Charter, he stated that Iran reserves all options to exercise its right to self-defense. Moments after the Foreign Minister's post, Iran's Foreign Ministry also issued a stern condemnation, describing the attacks as a direct assault on its sovereignty, urging immediate action by the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Iran declared that it will respond with full force to protect its sovereignty, also criticizing the IAEA for siding with 'warmongers.' Tehran warned that the international community's silence on U.S. actions will lead to 'unprecedented and widespread threats.' It reminded the world that it was the U.S. that initiated the war against Iran amid ongoing diplomatic efforts. Iran called for an emergency UN session, stating that the U.S. is acting outside of international norms. Iran targeted Israel, claiming that the U.S. actions support a 'genocidal, occupying regime.'
