The Raja Raghuvanshi murder investigation is taking a new turn as the Shillong police reach pivotal evidence in Indore. On Sunday, officers took co-accused Silom James to the flat in Hare Krishna Vihar Society on MR-3, Indore, where Sonam Raghuvanshi stayed post the incident. From this very spot, the 'black bag' vanished, now becoming the key to unraveling the honeymoon murder mystery. Silom James was known to deal in real estate in Indore.

According to sources, Silom James hid the black bag at Sonam's behest. The bag contained crucial evidence like cash, mobile phones, and documents linked to the murder. During their search, the police only recovered charred remnants from the flat. These remains have been seized by the forensic team for further analysis. Investigative agencies suspect James might have burned the black bag to erase evidence.

Flat Rented by Accused Vishal Chauhan

It has been revealed that the flat at Hare Krishna Vihar was originally rented on May 30 by Vishal Chauhan, a co-accused running a property management firm in Indore. The rent was fixed at INR 17,000 per month. Silom James arranged this accommodation, where Sonam Raghuvanshi stayed in hiding after the murder. Sources suggest that this is where she might have concealed or destroyed the black bag.

Charred Remains Found in Investigation

During the investigation by the SIT team from Shillong, the flat was discovered empty except for some burnt remnants believed to be of the black bag. The forensic team is now examining whether these remains include electronic devices, documents, or other evidence. The police team believes Sonam and Raj Kushwaha cleverly crafted this script to destroy evidence following the murder.

Shillong police arrested Silom James on Sunday from Indore. He is now on transit remand to Meghalaya for thorough interrogation. Police expect to uncover vital information about the murder conspiracy, Sonam's hideouts, and the contents of the bag. Sources indicated that Sonam's arrest led to the discovery of the missing black bag containing crucial digital and physical evidence from the murder.

Sonam and Raj's Murder Plot

On May 11, Raja Raghuvanshi married Sonam in Indore. The couple embarked on their honeymoon to Meghalaya on May 20. However, Raja went missing on May 23. His dismembered body was found on June 2 at a gorge near a waterfall in Cherrapunji (Sohra). The investigation reveals Sonam conspired the murder with her lover Raj Kushwaha. Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi have also been arrested. All accused are in judicial custody.
