The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested two shooters in connection to the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Identified as Gurmail Baljeet Singh (23) from Haryana and Dharmraj Rajesh Kashyap (19) from Bahraich, UP, they are now under custody. The third shooter, Shivkumar Gautam alias Shiva (20) from Bahraich, is still at large.

Mumbai Police has described Baba Siddique's murder as a contract killing. The Crime Branch is on the hunt for the mastermind behind the shooters. After contacting Uttar Pradesh police for their criminal history, it's noted that there are no charges against the accused in their district. Dharmraj Rajesh Kashyap and Shivkumar Gautam alias Shiva belong to Gandara, a town in Kaiser Ganj, Bahraich district. However, Gurmail Baljeet from Haryana has a prior murder case registered against him.

Accused Gurmail's parents are deceased, but he lives with his grandmother Phuli Devi and a stepbrother. Back in 2019, Gurmail tragically killed his elder brother with an ice pick.

The shooters, Dharmraj and Shivkumar alias Shiva, came to Pune seeking work; Shiva had been employed by a scrap dealer for 5-6 years and had invited Dharmraj to join him recently. They met through the individual who commissioned the hit. The Crime Branch is now investigating how they traveled from Pune to Mumbai.
