Mumbai Police have made a fourth arrest in the high-profile Baba Siddique murder case involving the former Maharashtra minister and three-time MLA. Harish Kumar Balkaram, aged 23 and a resident of Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, has been apprehended. He ran a scrap business in Pune where Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shivprasad were employed. Harish was integral to plotting Baba Siddique’s assassination and provided substantial assistance to the shooters who gunned him down.
Alongside Harish, police have also detained another individual from Bahraich named Anurag Kashyap, the brother of shooter Dharmaraj Kashyap. Reports reveal that Harish recently bought new mobile phones for Shivprasad and Dharmaraj, both linked to Siddique's murder. Harish, a cousin of shooter Dharmaraj, facilitated a rental house and a bike in Kurla for the shooters.
Baba Siddique Killed Amidst Firecracker Noises
On the occasion of Vijayadashami, Baba Siddique was shot outside his office in Bandra amidst celebratory firecrackers. Around 9:15 p.m. to 9:20 p.m., as he left his son's office, three assailants emerged from a vehicle, faces concealed by handkerchiefs, and discharged six rounds. Out of these, three bullets hit Siddique. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for Siddique’s murder. Gunmen involved include Gurmail Singh from Kaithal, Haryana, and Dharmraj Kashyap and Shiv Kumar from Bahraich, UP. Police have since arrested Gurmail Singh and Dharmraj Kashyap. However, suspects Zeeshan, Shubham Lonkar, and Shiv Kumar remain at large. Police have arrested Praveen, Shubham Lonkar’s brother.
