Therefore, the jail administration could not immediately release Azam Khan even after receiving the discharge order.

Azam Khan's 'Quality Bar' case from the Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh has been quite contentious. It is alleged that Azam Khan illegally transferred and captured the land of Quality Bar in the Civil Lines area of Rampur to his wife Tazeen Fatima and son Abdullah Azam's names during his ministerial tenure in 2013.
In 2019, owner Gagan Arora lodged a complaint leading to an FIR where numerous family members of Azam Khan were accused. In 2024, Azam Khan was declared the main accused in the case.
