On December 28, 2025, Auraiya police, SWAT, and surveillance teams successfully uncovered the robbery at teacher Anoop Tiwari's home following an encounter. During checks near the Pannahar canal track, criminals fired at the police, during which Sunny Dohre and Shubham Kanaujia were shot in the legs. Along with them, the primary conspirator Alok Sharma was also arrested. This incident was executed on December 9th in Brahmanagar by holding the teacher's mother hostage. From the accused, 243 grams of gold, 501 grams of silver, 329,000 rupees in cash, and illegal weapons were confiscated.
Betrayal Within the Family
Police investigations revealed that the mastermind of the event, Alok Sharma, was the driver of Anoop Tiwari's sister, Geetu, in Lucknow. Alok visited Auraiya during Anoop's younger sister's wedding in May and gathered information about the cash and jewelry in the house. He later conspired with criminals Sunny and Shubham to plan and execute the robbery.

Operation Trinetra and a 200 KM Search
SP Abhishek Bharti stated that post the incident, the police utilized camera surveillance under 'Operation Trinetra'. The teams reviewed CCTV footage spanning approximately 200 kilometers, identifying the suspicious motorcycle. With surveillance raising suspicion towards the driver, the truth emerged after the encounter. The police also recovered the Apache bike used during the heist.
Criminals' Criminal Past
The arrested accused, Shubham Kanaujia, previously had five cases filed under theft and gangster activities. Sunny Dohre had two, and the mastermind Alok Sharma had three cases registered in Kannauj. Commended for their significant success, the police team received a reward of 30,000 rupees. All accused are being sent to judicial custody after medical treatment.
