Pakistan's Field Marshal and Army Chief Asim Munir has once again made a bold and controversial statement against India. During his tour in Libya, he asserted that in a recent military clash with India in May, Pakistan shot down several advanced Indian Air Force weapons and fighter jets. With such declarations, he seems intent on bolstering arms sales.

Asim Munir remarked, "By the grace of Allah, we have downed Rafale, Su-30, MiG-29, Mirage-2000, and S-400 systems." His statement is considered one of the most audacious claims related to India-Pakistan military confrontations.

In his speech, the Pakistan Army Chief praised the country’s defense technology with vigor. He mentioned, "Eliminate fear from your heart. The day fear is eradicated, humans can achieve anything in the world." Munir also highlighted that Pakistan had long decided to focus on developing indigenous defense technologies at any cost.

Munir champions Pakistani innovation

Asim Munir claimed that approximately 90% of the technology used in the recent conflict with India was homegrown. According to Munir, the Pakistani Air Force showcased its might to the world leveraging this indigenous technology.

During his statement in Libya, Asim Munir conveyed a message to the Libyan leadership, stating that every military device and technology Pakistan possesses is available to ally nations. He declared, "The weapons and technology we have in Pakistan will always be available as support to our brothers."

Munir seeks to sell arms to 'brothers'

Experts believe that Asim Munir's statement is not merely limited to exhibiting military power but also attempts to showcase Pakistan's defense technology on the international stage, aiming to expand strategic partnerships. So far, India has officially remained silent on these claims. Previously, similar assertions have been made by Pakistan, which India has consistently dismissed.
