Kailash Gahlot, once a powerful minister in the Delhi government, resigned from his ministerial post and primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party just a day ago. Within 24 hours of leaving the Aam Aadmi Party, Kailash Gahlot visited the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters and joined the party.

Reacting to Kailash Gahlot’s move to the BJP, Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party's chief and former Chief Minister of Delhi, stated that it’s Gahlot’s prerogative to decide where he wants to be.

Notably, only a day before, Gahlot had resigned from his ministerial position in Atishi's government. He addressed a letter to Arvind Kejriwal, stepping down from the Aam Aadmi Party's primary membership too. In the letter, Kailash Gahlot raised questions about various issues ranging from the Chief Minister's bungalow controversy to tensions with the central government.

In the letter to Kejriwal, Kailash Gahlot mentioned controversies like the new bungalow as embarrassing incidents causing doubts about their belief in 'Aam Aadmi' principles. AAP leaders attributed Gahlot’s resignation to pressures from ED and other central agencies.
