Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been remanded to 6 days of ED custody. In accordance with the court's orders, ED will present Kejriwal in court by 2 PM on March 28th, detailing investigative progress and next steps. The interrogation of Kejriwal will be conducted under CCTV surveillance, and the footage will be securely retained.
Under Section 41D of the CrPC, accused Arvind Kejriwal is permitted to meet his attorneys, Mohammad Irshad and Vivek Jain, from 6 PM to 7 PM. During ED’s custody, Kejriwal is also allowed to meet his wife Sunita Kejriwal and personal secretary Vibhav Kumar for half an hour daily. Considering Kejriwal's poor health, the court has ordered ED to provide a diet suggested by doctors. In case of non-compliance, Kejriwal will be permitted to have home-cooked food.
Kejriwal seeks removal of assigned police officer for misconduct
Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal has filed a plea in the Rouse Avenue Court to remove ACP AK Singh from his security detail, alleging mistreatment during transport to court. Similar misconduct was reportedly experienced by Manish Sisodia with ACP AK Singh, prompting an official complaint.
Kejriwal to Aaj Tak: 'Govt will run from Jail'
In an interview with Aaj Tak, Kejriwal reassured that he won't resign as CM, insisting the government will be run from jail if necessary. He expressed confidence in overcoming challenges to keep governing, believing it’s what Delhi's citizens desire. When queried about his health, he responded affirmatively. Kejriwal was surprised by the speedy arrest post High Court’s order, as he didn’t get a chance to seek blessings from his parents before ED’s arrival. He noted that the ED officers behaved respectfully and professionally prior to taking him into custody, and he did not expect any intense interrogation during detention.
