Apple has achieved a momentous milestone in India. According to reports, the company has now entered the prestigious top 5 smartphone brands in the Indian market. It is the first time Apple's name is etched into this elite list, marking its rapid climb in popularity across the nation.

Research from IDC and Counterpoint highlights Apple's dazzling sales during the festive season. By the fourth quarter of 2024, Apple had secured a market share of 9 to 10 percent in India. It was just last September when the company unveiled its iPhone 16 Series.

The series ushered in artificial intelligence features, exclusive to the

iPhone 16 Pro

and iPhone 16 Pro Max models, drawing a significant number of buyers during festival discounts.

According to reports, Tarun Pathak, Counterpoint's Research Director, notes Apple's sales have been on an upward trajectory for the past five years. Projections suggest that by 2026, Apple's sales in India could soar to 15 million units, establishing India as its third-largest global market.

Currently, India stands as Apple's fifth-largest market. Reports indicate that in 2024, Apple's shipment reached 12 million iPhones, up from 9 million in 2023. The company achieved a remarkable year-on-year growth of 34 to 35 percent, with expanding manufacturing capabilities in India.

Notably, Apple has commenced manufacturing the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max within India. Partnering with Foxconn and Pegatron, production of these pro models is underway, alongside ramping up manufacturing of AirPods, MacBooks, and iPads.
