Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived late Saturday evening in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, where he is set to preside over the state BJP core committee meeting. He will also engage with party officials at the state, district, and division levels. Upon his arrival in Madurai, Tamil Nadu BJP President Nagerndran, senior leader Tamilsai Soundarajan, and other party functionaries welcomed him warmly.

Amit Shah shared his eagerness to engage with the spirited workers of Tamil Nadu and contribute to various organizational programs scheduled for Sunday, as noted on social media platform X. BJP leaders are demonstrating substantial enthusiasm regarding this visit.

Tamilsai Soundarajan remarked that the arrival of Home Minister Amit Shah has invigorated all our workers and leaders. Whenever Amit Shah visits Tamil Nadu, it causes apprehension within the DMK, highlighting the need to expose their flawed policies to the public. She further stated that Amit Shah's guidance will empower the party for the 2026 assembly elections, with all workers ready to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has announced elections for the biennial Rajya Sabha seats for Assam and Tamil Nadu, set for June 19. This visit by Amit Shah is seen as a strategic move to solidify the party's influence in Tamil Nadu while preparing a strategy against the opposition DMK.
