In Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, an SDM's clerk demanded a bribe from a complainant to dismiss a land dispute stay order. The complainant informed the Anti-Corruption team, who devised a plan to catch the clerk red-handed. The plan succeeded, and the clerk was arrested on the spot.
The Anti-Corruption team caught the SDM's clerk red-handed while taking money. They then took the clerk to the local police station and later to Ayodhya to file a case and commence further proceedings. This incident created a stir in the tehsil.
The entire incident occurred at Amethi Sadar Tehsil, where clerk Ashok Kumar Srivastava, who works in the SDM's court, was preparing to file a case. Suddenly, the vigilance team from Ayodhya (Anti-Corruption) caught Ashok red-handed taking money from the complainant, Ravikant Pal. The team immediately took Ashok away, causing an uproar in the court premises.
Clerk Ashok, who works in the SDM's court, demanded a hefty amount to dismiss a stay order on Ravikant Pal's land. Although the amount was settled at 15,000, Ravikant reported the entire matter to the vigilance team in Ayodhya. The other day, Ravikant handed over 5,000 in cash to Ashok at the tehsil in the presence of the vigilance officers, who then caught Ashok red-handed.
Deputy Collector Ashish Kumar Singh of the tehsil said they had no prior information about the monetary transactions involved in the land dispute. The vigilance team came, caught the clerk working in their court, and took him away.
Ravikant revealed that it was a land dispute case. Despite a mutual settlement, the neighbor filed a lawsuit, halting their house construction work due to the stay order. When Ravikant met the clerk, he was told that paying 15,000 would resolve the matter. He made a complaint to the Anti-Corruption team, who caught the clerk red-handed while taking the money.
