The Indian smartphone market is about to welcome another player. Well, it's more of a re-entry. We're talking about Alcatel, set to launch new smartphones in India soon, brought to the market by NXTCell. The brand has teased its upcoming event.
NXTCell's Chief Business Officer Atul Vivek and Chief Operating Officer Ansh Rathore had a special conversation with Aaj Tak Digital. They provided exclusive insights on their upcoming smartphone lineup.
While company executives have not shared a confirmed launch date, they did mention that an announcement regarding the launch date is expected soon. Atul Vivek hinted that the smartphones could debut at the end of May or the beginning of June.

The brand confirmed plans to launch multiple models. During the event, happening within the next month, several smartphones targeting different segments will be unveiled, featuring patented displays with stylus support.
NXTCell hasn't disclosed pricing yet, but the hint suggests their smartphones might be priced between 20,000 and 30,000 INR. However, they have clarified their focus on offering premium specifications at affordable prices. Atul Vivek noted that most phones in India are in the 15,000 to 25,000 INR bracket. They aim to focus on this segment while also quickly expanding into other segments.

The company has made it clear that their primary focus will be the online market. Alcatel smartphones will be available on Flipkart and will gradually enter the offline market. Alongside this, the company is also working on after-sales services.
Ansh Rathore mentioned about after-sales service, 'We believe in not just leading with innovation but also focusing on consumer experience. We've partnered with a pan-India service center. Across India, we'll have over 300 service centers, equipped with a significant number of technicians for consumer interaction. We prefer more human interaction over AI chatbots.'
The company revealed that their smartphones would include stylus support, not just for display, but packed with a variety of features to make the user experience interactive and straightforward. Furthermore, the company assured that the smartphones would receive three years of operating system updates and four years of security updates.
