On Thursday, an Air India plane AI-171, tragically crashed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Among the 242 people on board, 241 lost their lives. This harrowing incident was captured in a live video by 17-year-old Aryan. Locally residing in Meghaninagar, Aryan recorded the video on his mobile. He is a high school senior. Aryan, in conversation with Lallantop, expressed his deep fear and said he will never board a plane again.
Aryan recorded the crash video on Thursday at 1:39 PM, as his mobile timestamps indicate. Aryan mentioned that he sent the video to his father, who might have shared it further.
Meanwhile, Aryan's sister disclosed that it was Aryan’s first visit to the area as he usually resides in the village. When Aryan saw an airplane flying so low for the first time, he captured it on his phone to show his friends back in the village how close planes fly to his new neighborhood in Meghaninagar. She added that Aryan was just making a usual video, but unfortunately, it turned into a catastrophe. Aryan had never seen an aircraft this close before.
Aryan's neighbor, Shubham Gupta, remarked that the Air India plane that crashed was flying unusually low. Its erratic movements suggested a potential crash. He shared that the video was shot from Omkar Nagar Corner in Meghaninagar, while the actual crash occurred at the IGP Compound in Meghaninagar. Upon hearing a loud explosion, they rushed to the terrace, where the sky was engulfed in smoke.
Ahmedabad police interrogated Aryan regarding the video. It was clarified that no arrests were made over the video creation. A screen recording of the mobile video went viral. The video recorder cooperated with the police, providing all necessary details. He arrived with his father to offer a witness statement and was subsequently released with him. No arrests or detention occurred.
