The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled its fourth and final list of 38 candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections. Arvind Kejriwal will contest from New Delhi, while Chief Minister Atishi is set to battle it out once more in Kalkaji. As before, Saurabh Bhardwaj will represent AAP in Greater Kailash. Both Atishi and Bhardwaj are current MLAs from these constituencies. In a surprising move, AAP has replaced its existing MLA Madan Lal from Kasturba Nagar with newcomer Ramesh Pehlwan. AAP Cuts Tickets for 20 Incumbents
This election season, the AAP has decided to drop 20 of its sitting MLAs in Delhi. Notably, tickets have been granted to relatives of three of these outgoing officeholders. Vikas Bagga, son of SK Bagga, will run in Krishna Nagar, Puraandeep Sahni, son of Prahlad Sahni, from Chandni Chowk, and Pooja Balyan, wife of Naresh Balyan, will contest from Uttam Nagar. The first list of AAP candidates had eleven candidates, six of whom migrated from BJP and Congress (three from each party). In its second list, AAP replaced 15 incumbents with leaders actively working within the party organization.
Following the release of AAP's final list of candidates for the Delhi elections, Arvind Kejriwal posted on X. He announced, 'Today, the Aam Aadmi Party has declared candidates for all 70 seats. Our party is moving forward with confidence and comprehensive preparation. Meanwhile, BJP is nowhere to be seen. They lack a CM face, a team, a plan, or vision for Delhi. Their sole slogan, policy, and mission is to remove Kejriwal. When asked about their achievements over the last five years, all they can say is—Kept criticizing Kejriwal. Our party holds a vision for Delhi's progress, a plan, and an exceptional team of well-educated individuals ready for implementation. We have a long list of accomplishments from the past decade. The people of Delhi will vote for progress, not slander.'
