AAP leader Atishi levelled serious allegations that Tihar Jail is withholding insulin from Arvind Kejriwal, suggesting a plot to endanger his life. She claims that there are attempts to prevent the provision of home-cooked meals to Kejriwal. The ED has falsely accused Kejriwal of indulging in sweets and sugary tea, she insists.

Atishi further stated that Arvind Kejriwal has only been given low-calorie sweeteners as prescribed by his doctor. She challenges the BJP to consult any diabetes specialist to verify that patients are recommended to have a banana or toffee on hand. The ED is lying about him consuming potato-based meals, she adds; he only partook in the Navratri tradition on a singular occasion.

Shedding light on the specifics, Atishi revealed that Kejriwal did consume potato puri on the first day of Navratri as part of the ceremonial offerings. 'Won't they even let him partake in a religious offering?' she questions, highlighting that Kejriwal's required insulin intake amounts to 54 units.

'Rumors against Kejriwal...'

She added that Kejriwal was following a special diet as part of an insulin reversal program, but since March 21st, this routine has been disrupted. His sugar levels have critically soared above 300. They have been requesting insulin from the jail authorities, yet none is being supplied. Kejriwal has been denied the opportunity for a video conference with his doctor by the ED and the Tihar Jail authorities.

Regarding BJP's accusations of Kejriwal consuming eggs during Navratri, Atishi maintains that his diet has been meticulously designed to reduce sugar levels, balancing carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Kejriwal used to adhere strictly to this diet plan at home, yet now his sugar levels are erratically fluctuating inside the jail. She accuses the BJP of spreading rumors and conspiring to take Kejriwal's life.

When questioned by the court, the ED stated that they have granted permission for Kejriwal to have home-cooked meals, citing his dietary requirements as provided by the jail DG. Despite his health concerns, they claim that his consumption includes highly sweetened foods, bananas, mangoes, and potato puri—used as an argument to secure his bail. The court responded by demanding a comprehensive diet plan from Kejriwal's lawyers, with further hearing scheduled for Friday.

Responding to ED's claims, Kejriwal's lawyers accused the ED of creating media spectacles. They question the appropriateness of the diet being served to someone managing diabetes.
