Congress has announced its third guarantee for the Delhi Assembly elections, aptly named the 'Youth Udaan Yojna'. Under this plan, unemployed educated youth will receive Rs 8,500 every month through a year-long apprenticeship. This generous offer was revealed by former Rajasthan Deputy CM and prominent Congress leader, Sachin Pilot.
While unveiling this visionary scheme, Sachin Pilot remarked that it coincides with Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary, a symbol of youth empowerment. Today, we are presenting our third guarantee for the vibrant youth of Delhi who feel the pangs of neglect shared across the nation. BJP and AAP have failed to engage with the youth, leaving them unheard amidst the noise of blame games the Delhi and central governments indulge in. Neither seemed to genuinely care about Delhi's issues.
Congress Keeps Its Promises: Sachin
Furthermore, Pilot emphasized that Congress sees promise fulfillment as a responsibility. He articulated the need to move past bickering politics and focus on constructive governance. If victorious, Congress intends to spotlight the youth, ensuring they receive Rs 8,500 monthly during a one-year apprenticeship and find jobs in relevant fields. Delhi longs for solutions, and Congress offers new hope beyond mere mudslinging.
Addressing the factional tensions within the India Block, Pilot expressed that every state has its own political scenario, as seen in Punjab where AAP and Congress were rivals. Despite local differences, the India Block remains robust. It was formed to save democracy two years ago amidst the Lok Sabha election backdrop.
Pyari Didi Scheme Announced
Previously, Congress also introduced the 'Pyari Didi Yojna' and 'Jeevan Raksha Yojna'. For 'Pyari Didi Yojna', they've promised Rs 2,500 monthly to all women upon winning Delhi elections. Meanwhile, the 'Jeevan Raksha Yojna' assures a healthcare cover of Rs 25 lakh for every Delhi resident.
48 Candidates Announced
For the Delhi Assembly elections, Congress has currently announced candidates for 48 seats, with 22 seats pending announcement. Congress icon Rahul Gandhi is expected to address a rally in Seelampur on January 13, officially launching the party's election campaign.
Voting to Happen in a Single Phase
Recently, the Election Commission proclaimed the schedule for the Delhi Assembly elections. Voting across Delhi's 70 assembly seats will occur in a single phase on February 5, with results declared on February 8. The ruling AAP historically secured commanding victories with 67 and 62 seats in the 2015 and 2020 elections respectively.
