The CCTV footage of the bomb attack on a nightclub in Chandigarh has come to light. The footage shows a man wearing a shawl, seen throwing a bomb towards the nightclub. As the bomb hits the club's wall, a cloud of smoke rises. With the footage now public, the police have intensified their efforts to track down the suspect.
Reportedly, on the morning of November 26, there was an attempt to attack the nightclub using homemade bombs. It is said that the attackers arrived on motorcycles. This incident occurred around 4 AM on a Tuesday morning. The attack was of very low intensity, and fortunately, no one was injured.
Was spreading fear the motive?
According to Chandigarh police sources, there was an attempt to create an explosion using indigenous bombs filled with potash outside the nightclubs in Chandigarh. Some jute ropes were also recovered from the scene. The explosives were set off at a time when the nightclubs were closed.
Forensic team investigating
It is believed that these explosions were executed solely to incite fear. Sources suggest that an extortion angle is suspected, as there might have been an attempt to spread fear among nightclub owners. The Chandigarh police, with the help of forensic teams, are investigating the matter.
