To diffuse the escalating rumors, Mahhi Vij addressed the speculations regarding her friend Nadeem in a video. She stated: ‘I was advised not to speak, to ignore it. Even those who know the truth are baffled by the media’s stance. Just because we chose to divorce amicably with respect, perhaps some people cannot accept that. You all crave controversy and negativity. How did it reach this point? Nadeem remains my best friend and always will.'
Mahhi further explained why their daughter, Tara, calls Nadeem 'Abbu.' She shared: ‘For the last six years, I have been posting pictures with Nadeem, and Tara has called him 'Abbu' for six years too. It was mine and Jay’s collective decision for her to call him that. You have tainted the word 'Abbu' with negativity. Is there no fear of karma among you? To sink to such shameful depths—I am astonished.'
