In Bangladesh, the efforts of one individual led to the ousting of Sheikh Hasina from power: student leader Nahid Islam. Indeed, due to Nahid Islam, Hasina had to resign from her position as Prime Minister and flee the country. He is the coordinator of the student organization 'Students Against Discrimination' and has called for the formation of an interim government within the next 24 hours.
Nahid Islam is a student at Dhaka University. He became the face of the movement that compelled Sheikh Hasina to unexpectedly leave the country. He alleged that he was arrested by the police on the morning of July 20, even though the police denied this.

Police Abduction and Assault
During this period, a viral video surfaced on social media showing the police placing him in a vehicle. Nahid Islam was found unconscious under a bridge 24 hours after he went missing. He claimed that the police beat him until he lost consciousness.
Earlier, his friends Asif Mahmood and Abu Bakr were arrested on July 19. Six days later, they were blindfolded and left in a remote area, after which they were undergoing treatment in a hospital. During this time, on July 26, they were taken into custody from the hospital.
The police claimed they detained them for their security. However, during this time, videos of the police trying to end the movement were recorded. After Nahid Islam was released from police custody, he intensified the movement to the extent that Sheikh Hasina had to leave her position and the country.
