The Rajya Sabha witnessed intense chaos on Tuesday over the new education policy and Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's comments. Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the minister's remarks, and when he was stopped by the Deputy Chair from speaking, Kharge accused them of dictatorship. When interrupted again, Kharge stated that they will respond robustly, targeting the government.

Nadda condemns the remarks

Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, JP Nadda, condemned Kharge's comments, emphasizing that such language from the opposition leader towards the chair is entirely unacceptable and deserves an apology. He urged Deputy Chairman Harivansh to remove such words from the house's proceedings. Nadda described the language as highly condemnable and not worthy of any apology. The ruling party MPs lent their support with slogans.

Kharge demands Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation

Kharge further stated that if Minister Dharmendra Pradhan insults the people of Tamil Nadu and hurts their pride, he should be asked to resign. He expressed that such ministers talk about dividing the nation. Following this, JP Nadda acknowledged Kharge's apology but insisted any derogatory remarks on government policies should be expunged from proceedings.

After the uproar subsided, Congress MP Digvijay Singh and BJP MP Ghanshyam Tiwari started addressing issues related to the Education Ministry's functions. This topic was set by the Chair. Previously, Dharmendra Pradhan labeled the DMK as uncouth and undemocratic, sparking ongoing controversy.
