U.S. President Donald Trump stated that his nearly three-hour meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not result in a final agreement. However, he emphasized the continuation of dialogue with Iran. This meeting took place on Wednesday, amidst ongoing diplomatic efforts concerning Iran's nuclear program and the conflict in Gaza.

'Talks were good but inconclusive'

On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump declared that the discussions were 'very good,' though they failed to produce a definitive outcome. He wrote, 'No final decision was reached, except for my emphasis on keeping talks with Iran going to see whether a deal is possible.'

Trump further added, 'If a deal can be struck, it would be ideal. If not, we will wait to see what happens next.' He did not clarify whether Netanyahu agreed with his perspective.

Increasing U.S. pressure on Iran

Trump referenced previous U.S. military actions against Iran and warned of potential 'consequences' should talks collapse. 'The last time Iran chose against a deal, it faced the 'Midnight Hammer'—not a favorable outcome for them,' he noted, referring to U.S. attacks on three major Iranian nuclear sites in June 2025.

Trump expressed hope for greater wisdom and responsibility from Iran this time. He mentioned that discussions also covered the Gaza conflict and broader Middle East situations, though he did not detail any progress or decisive steps.

Netanyahu emphasizes security concerns

Alternatively, a statement from Netanyahu's office emphasized Israel's security needs in the meeting. 'The Prime Minister prioritized discussing Israel’s security requirements during talks, and both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination and constant contact,' the statement read. Discussions included Iran, Gaza, and regional issues, though as in Trump’s statement, no final outcome was mentioned.
