In the district of Adilabad, Telangana, a tragic incident unfolded when a farmer took his own life inside a bank. Jadhav Dev, burdened by the relentless pressure of debt recovery, sadly ended his life by ingesting pesticide within the ICICI Bank branch. Police arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem. Officials say investigations are underway.
Jadhav Dev was known to be a diligent farmer. He had been grappling with mounting debts and a dire financial crisis for an extended period. The bank's staff and management reportedly exerted relentless pressure on him regarding debt clearance. According to locals and eyewitnesses, the compulsion to repay the bank loan had intensified so drastically that Jadhav felt he had no other choice but to take such a drastic step.
According to sources, upon reaching the bank on the day of the incident, Jadhav engaged in conversation with the manager. During the discussion, he suddenly pulled out a bottle of pesticide and consumed it, leaving onlookers inside the bank in shock. He was rushed to the hospital immediately, but efforts to save him were in vain. Following this incident, villagers and farmer organizations staged protests outside the bank.
