In response to Rahul Gandhi's accusations, the Election Commission has requested a declaration from him. BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya shared this demand and similarly appealed for a declaration from the Congress MP. In his X post, Malviya wrote, "If Rahul Gandhi values his credibility, he must present the names of those alleged ineligible voters he claims are in the electoral roll, as required under Rule 20(3)(b) of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960."
He added, "Failing to do so will make it clear that he has no substantial basis and is merely engaging in political dramatics - aimed at distorting facts, sowing distrust among the public, and maligning the constitutional body responsible for ensuring free and fair elections. Such conduct is reckless and gravely detrimental to our democracy."
