In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India is poised to take significant countermeasures. The recent missile tests, naval exercises in the Arabian Sea, and the deployment of warships have left Pakistan in distress. Alarmed by India's military readiness, Pakistan has been indulging in hyperbolic public pronouncements. With limited arsenal control, Pakistani leaders and diplomats have resorted to issuing bizarre statements.

Warships on High Alert

On April 24, INS Surat successfully tested a medium-range surface-to-air missile during a drill in the Arabian Sea, prior to Pakistan Navy’s tests. The MR-SAM system is highly effective against surface-to-surface missiles and aerial threats. This landmark vessel proudly carries the name Surat, a city in Gujarat.

Deployment of Air Defense Missiles

India’s Air Force, bolstered by advanced Igla-S air defense missiles sourced from Russia, is strengthening its combat abilities. These systems are strategically positioned to intercept adversarial aircraft, drones, and helicopters. Secured through a specialized ₹2,500 crore deal, these missiles enhance India’s anti-air capabilities along its western front.
